2012!!! Again In Györ Hungary

2012, New season!
After a long winter in New Zealand it was time to get back to Europe.
I was first spending some time at home in Finland meeting family and Friends and getting my new kayak for the season.

Now I'm again in Györ, one of my favorit training locations in the world! It will be 3 weeks hard training and sore muscels....

Dragonboat-Sessions ending 2011 at the 25th Armadacup in Bern (SUI)

So for our last Dragonboat race this year we travel to Bern (Switzerland).
Also when it sounds a little bit crazy to spend over thousands of kilometers and 28 hours on the 'Autobahn', only for a 9000 m long term race with a start of over 50 Dragonboats at once, it is every year a highlight... But also this year there were some turbolences at the start and for me there's no understanding why the race officials turn of their new competition rules. And why can evryone, who think he could steer a Dragonboat also start with bis team at a such hard race?! We see every year the same picture - it is dangerous for every paddler, drummer and steer-man.
But however we had a funtastic start with our team of the "Hochrhein Paddler" and could set us on the top of the field and could hold...

9th in Singapore Marathon world champs, season over!!! 9 sija Maraton melonnan MM-kilpailuissa, kausi pulkassa!! =)

Hi everyone, because of bad internet connections and problems of my laptop I'm updating my blog now days after the competitions.

I was 9th in Marathon world championships in K1 women seniors 25km. I was happy of the result it was the first top 10 result for Finland in K1 seniors! =) For me it was relief that I got to the top 10, it has been long season and the whole training was for this single competition. I lost only 5' 58'' to the winner Renata Csay from Hungary who won also K2 competition on sunday.

the conditions of the race were steaming hot, air was very heavy to breath the temperature was during the race at least 28c so it was a truely chalenging...

Tomorrow to Singapore!!!!!!! Huomenna Singaporeen!!!!

Tomorrow to Singapore!! Treining is done, last competition of the year.. It has been a long season and long preparing for these world champs. I will compete in senior women K1 25km on Saturday, so I have couple days time to prepare after I arrive to Singapore on Tuesday. I am looking forward to get to Singapore!

Süddeutsche Meisterschaften

Servus,

habe nun den ersten Rennsport Wettkampf dieses Jahres hinter mir gebracht und muss sagen: Paddeln ist geil!

Die Süddeutschen fanden dieses Jahr in Mannheim statt. Die Strecke dort, nun ist doch noch ausbaufähig! Ein paar mehr Bojen und eine gerade 1000m wären schön gewesen. Dafür hat das Wetter mitgespielt und es waren fast Null Bedingungen!

Auf den 1000m hat sich mein Trainingszustand wiedergespiegelt und ich wurde mir Abstand vierter. Auf der 500 dann konnte ich ein interessantes Rennen abliefern und wurde nur sehr knapp vierter. Im Sprint auf der 200m Strecke liefs dafür sehr gut, sodass ich einen zweiten Rang belegen konnte. Auch wenn kein Titel herrausgesprungen ist, hat es riesig Spaß gemacht knappe Rennen abzuliefern!

German Dragonboat Championships Bad Waldsee 2011

Hey Guy's,
last weekend the german Dragonboat Championships were held on the city lake of Bad Waldsee (Baden Württemberg). It was our first championships in the german dragonboat assosiation since many years.
It's hard to say, but to race with the fastest german dragonboat teams we won't wait any longer in the german canoe assosiation so we visit for this year the championships of the dragonboat assosiation. And it was a awesome weekend!!
We started in the premier mixed and pemier open class and we showed that we could win also in the dragonboat assosiation so we drive home with 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals.
Thanks to all the 'Thunder Dragons' and anyone of the Hochrhein Paddler!

K2 EM maraton

Tänään seurasin erittäin jännittäviä K2 maratoneja katsomon puolelta.=) Ranskalaiset edustivat edukseen sekä naisten yleisessä sarjassa että miesten K2 sarjassa. Ranska saavutti aamulla hopeaa naisissa häviten niukasti Unkarin kaksikolle Krizstina Bedocs- Alexandra Bara. Miesten kilpailu päättyi ranskalaisjuhliin, kisat huipentuivat Ranskan kansallislauluun. miesten kilapilussa hopealle ehti Espanja ja kolmanneksi kovassa kisassa jäi Tsekki. =)

France EC Senior Women K1 marathon/ Ranska maraton EM naisten yleinen sarja

8th in Senior women K1 25km, about 3,30´´ to gold. It was a good race but I can tell that yesterdays race got me too early in this competition. I got an exelent start but then I got out of the first group before the first portage. After that I fought of the places 6-8th. I must say that I'm happy with my results of this weekend but there is lot work to do. Now starting to work on my weak spots for Singapore Marathon World Championships, I'm planing to race there too bouth U23 and Senior women K1.=)

Kahdeksas naisten yleinen sarja, 3.30´´ kärkeen. Hyvä kisa oli mutta eilinen kisa painoi jonkin verran taustalla. Loistavan startin jälkeen putosin kärkiporukasta nykäisyn jälkeen ennen ensimmäistä kanto-osuutta. ei rahkeet riittänyt vastaamaan. tämän jälkeen taistelin...

European canoe Marathon Champs U23/ U23 kisa vedetty

5th in U 23 women K1.=) it was a good race!! I didnt feel like in good shape this morning, I got last night slight stomach flue. Doctor check and some medicine before the race and then to the start line. start it self was too slow and I was littlebit behind. I Tried to get to a wash and a competititor front of me fells to the water.. after crashing her kayak I started my race to catch the others. Only 1,28 to gold.=) It was good training for tomorrow K1 senior women.=) Congratulations to Denmark for today!

Tomorrow to France ECA Marathon/ huomenna Ranskaan Maraton EM

So tomorrow to France St Jean. European Chapionships in Marathon Canoe. I will participate in K1 U23 and Senior Women.. So I will have hard racing on Friday and Saturday! I look forward to competitions.=) will see what happens with these two marathons.
